Whitney is a former Elementary and Junior High School art educator. She has ten years of art education experience in both Utah public schools and independent teaching. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with and emphasis in Painting and Drawing. Whitney also has a long-standing studio practice, showing work in various galleries in Salt Lake and Park City, Utah.
Terms of Service:
By enrolling your child in Smartest Artist, you agree to the following terms of service.
Monthly Billing: Smartest Artist is billed monthly on the 1st. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters unless otherwise specified in writing by the parent/guardian before the 1st of the coming month.
Withdrawal and Refunds: Monthly billing allows flexibility, but withdrawal forfeits your seat in class, with no hold on your spot. Partial refunds are not given if a student withdraws mid-month or mid-semester.
Makeup classes: Refunds for missed classes are not provided, however, we offer makeup class options if space is available in another class during the same week or any following or preceding week in which the student is enrolled. Makeup classes for missed classes are void once a student has withdrawn from Smartest Artist.
Class Cancellations: In the event of a class cancellation by the studio, a refund will be issued. Classes canceled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled, with no refunds given. Similarly, classes canceled for events beyond the control of Smartest Artist will be rescheduled, with no refunds provided.
Pre-K & Kinder Class:
Age Requirement: Artists must be at least 4 years old to enroll in PreK/K classes.
Bathroom Independence: Children must be fully independent in using the bathroom to attend classes without adult supervision. If a child requires assistance in the bathroom, a parent or guardian must be present during the class.
Unenrolled Children Policy:
Unenrolled children are not allowed to attend class or stay in the studio with enrolled friends or siblings.
Drop-In Option: One trial class is available for prospective students. Friends of enrolled children are also welcome to attend class at a drop-in tuition rate.
Parent/Guardian Agreement: Before class begins, parents/legal guardians of drop-in students must agree to the terms of service and sign a liability waiver and pay for the class. Students who do not have a signed liability waiver and completed payment may not attend class.
Supplied Materials: The Smartest Artist provides all necessary materials for class. Smartest Artist materials may not leave the studio. Please bring a water bottle for your student, as only room temperature tap water is available and drinking cups are not provided. Your student is welcome to bring a snack.
Drop-off and Pick-up Policy:
Drop-off Location: You may drop off your student on 3500 East in front of the studio. Please ensure a safe drop-off by rolling to a near stop before exiting the car.
Parking Options: Parking is available in the lots to the North, South, or West of the building. Street parking on 3500 East is also available.
Parent/Guardian Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure safe and timely pick-up and drop-off.
Important Note: The Smartest Artist is NOT responsible for children/students before or after their registered class hours. Parents or children may enter the classroom no earlier than FIVE MINUTES before class start time.
Late Pick-up/Early Drop-off: Late pick-up or early drop-off will result in additional charges to your credit card on file. Flagrant earliness or lateness without communication will result in my babysitting fee, which is expensive. Artwork Photography: Artwork posted on social media or The Smartest Artist's website will not be attached to student names for privacy. If you prefer not to have your student's artwork photographed, please inform me, and it will not happen.
